Tickets and fares bus

Single tickets apply for one journey with transfers within the validity period. The ticket is valid for the whole journey within the zone you have paid for, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard.  

More expensive to buy a ticket on board 

If you buy a single ticket for one zone on board with cash or a credit/debit card, you must pay an onboard surcharge.   

How the ticket works 

• The single ticket for one zone is valid for 90 minutes from the time of activation. If the journey passes through several zones, the validity period increases for each zone.  

• You may transfer to another bus in the zones for which the ticket applies, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard. 

• The ticket may be used on Troms Fylkestrafikk’s buses.  

• You may have the single ticket in the “Troms Billett” app on your mobile phone, on a travelcard or as a printed ticket.  

• No discounts are offered for transfers between bus and express boat.  

• The 24-hour ticket is valid for 24 hours from the time of activation.  

• You may transfer to other buses in the zones for which the ticket applies, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard. 

• The ticket may be used on Troms Fylkestrafikk’s buses.  

• You may have the 24-hour ticket in the “Troms Billett” app on your mobile phone or on a travelcard.  

• The 24-hour may be worthwhile if you travel more than three times within a 24-hour period.  

• No discounts are offered for transfers between bus and express boat.  

• The 7-day ticket is valid for seven days from the time of activation.  

• You may transfer to other buses in the zones for which the ticket applies, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard. 

• The ticket may be used on Troms Fylkestrafikk’s buses.  

• You may have the 7-day ticket in the “Troms Billett” app on your mobile phone or on a travelcard.  

• No discounts are offered for transfers between bus and express boat. 

Tromsø fares – period ticket  

You can now travel as much as you want in the entire Tromsø municipality with record low fares. 

• 30- og 90-dagersbilletten er gyldig i tretti/nitti døgn fra du aktiverer den. 
• Du kan bytte til andre busser i de sonene billetten gjelder for, så lenge billetten er gyldig når du går om bord. 
• Billetten kan brukes på alle Troms fylkestrafikks busser. 
• Du kan ha 30- og 90-dagersbilletten i Troms Billett-appen på mobil eller et reisekort. 
• Det gis ikke overgangsrabatt mellom buss og hurtigbåt. 

Hvorfor er det lavere priser på periodebilletter i Tromsø?

Som en del av belønningsavtalen med staten har Tromsø siden 2020 mottatt 20 millioner kroner i året som er øremerket til reduserte billettpriser for buss. Dette har gjort at prisen på periodebilletter er kraftig redusert. 

30- og 90 days:

• You may transfer to other buses in the zones for which the ticket applies, as long as the ticket remains valid when you get onboard. 

• The ticket may be used on Troms Fylkestrafikk’s buses.  

• You may have the 30-day and 90-day ticket in the “Troms Billett” app on your mobile phone or on a travelcard.  

• No discounts are offered for transfers between bus and express boat.  

Paying passengers aged 18 and over may be accompanied on the bus by up to four children aged 6-17 free of charge within zone 1 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. 

Children under 6 (age 0-5) 

Kindergarten pupils under 6 travel free of charge. Adults travelling with the kindergarten pupils pay the normal fare for the journey. 

Children/youth (age 6-17)

If you are travelling as part of a group of children/youth aged 6-17, you can receive a 60% discount based on the adult fare. Schools, volunteer organisations and sports clubs may use the discount scheme Special group Barn Ung.

• This discount only applies when a minimum of 10 people are travelling. 
• The adults travelling with the children/youth pay the same fare.
• The discount scheme does not apply if the group is using a voucher.

How to pay?

Travel card

When boarding the bus, the leader of the group should contact the driver to pay by travel card. Notify the driver how many people are travelling within each age group and that the payment applies to Special group Barn Ung.

Not a seat guarantee

This does not guarantee a seat. Consequently, larger groups must expect to be spread over several departures.

If there are more than 10 people, we want you to notify us in advance via our contact form no later than 48 hours (weekdays) or 72 hours (at weekends) before departure. We then have the opportunity to assess whether it is necessary to put in an extra bus.
