Contracts
The operators are bus and boat companies that run various public transport routes on contract for Troms and Finnmark County Municipality. Most contracts (a series of bus or boat routes within a specific area) are put out to tender. The operator that offers the best overall solution wins the tender and is then responsible for operating the relevant routes for a stipulated tender period.
Requirements for the operators
Drivers and crew are therefore employed by our various operators and not by Troms Fylkestrafikk. However, we have set demands related to punctuality, service, cleanliness and standard on board the buses and boats in our contracts. Consequently, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the carriers maintain the standard they have promised.
Feedback
Customers are encouraged to contact Troms Fylkestrafikk if they experience anything out of the ordinary. This enables us to raise the matter with our carriers. The same applies to suggestions about changes to timetables. We register this feedback and convey it to the county council if statistics and feedback from customers indicate that changes should be made to a specific timetable.
