Troms Billett (ticket)-app

Download the “Troms Billett” app 

1. Download “Troms Billett” on your mobile phone. .
2. Select the right ticket and follow the steps for payment in the app.

3. You may board when the countdown has started, and the ticket status is “valid”. 

You can only buy valid mobile tickets from Troms Fylkestrafikk in the official “Troms Billett” ticketing app. 

Validity 

Having a valid ticket for the full duration of your journey is your own responsibility.  

This includes the following: 

• You must buy and activate a valid mobile before boarding. 

• You must have sufficient battery capacity on your phone for the duration of your journey, so you can show a valid ticket in the event of a ticket inspection. 

• If you have a flat battery, you will be deemed not to have a valid ticket.  

• If travelling with a discounted ticket (senior or child, etc.), you must also be able to show valid ID to claim the discount. 

• If your ticket expires before you have completed your journey, you don’t need to purchase a new ticket if your ticket was valid when got onboard.  

You can pay in the following ways: 

• Visa 

• MasterCard 

• Vipps 

You can enter the payment method before buying a ticket or the first time you buy a ticket. If you want to do this before you buy a ticket, go to Settings and press Add under “Payment”. You can also delete or add new credit/debit cards here. Remember that you must have a bank ID the first time you register a credit/debit card. 

Credit/debit card or Vipps 

You must register your credit/debit card (Visa/Mastercard) or Vipps in the “Troms Billett” app to be able to pay. You only need to enter your card details (Visa/Mastercard) the first time you use the app. All ticket purchases will then be charged to the card. No card details are stored in the app or at Troms Fylkestrafikk.  

Security 

All transactions involving the use of credit/debit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are processed by Nets. Nets provides payment, card and information solutions in the Nordic countries and offers a secure electronic payment solution. Nets ensures that all card details are stored securely and in accordance with regulations of the bank/credit card company. No information about the payment card is stored in the app or by Troms Fylkestrafikk. 

Buy your ticket before boarding. 

• Having a valid ticket on the bus is your own responsibility. 

• You must confirm your purchase and activate the ticket before boarding the bus. 

• You may board when the countdown has started, and the ticket status is “valid”. 

Which door should I use? 

• If you have a valid mobile ticket, you may board via the middle door in Tromsø. 

• Passengers outside Tromsø must board at the front. 

Should I show my ticket to the driver? 

• You don’t need to show mobile tickets to the driver when boarding city buses in Tromsø. 

• You must show mobile tickets at the front entrance without being asked on all other buses in Troms.  

• The driver and inspector can ask to see a valid ticket at any time during the journey. 

Should I scan the QR code on the ticket validator? 

• No. You should not scan the QR code when boarding. This is only necessary for travelcards.  

• Buy your ticket when you are sure there is space on board.  

• If you purchased a mobile ticket, show this to the crew so it can be registered. 

• The crew and inspector can ask to see a valid ticket at any time during the journey. 

• You need mobile data (3G/4G/5G) to use the “Troms Billett” app. 

• If you don’t have access to mobile data, you won’t be able to buy tickets in the app. 

• You may transfer to another bus as long as your ticket is valid in the zone for which the ticket applies. The transfer time is the same as the validity shown in the “Troms Billett” app.  

• Apart from this, “Troms Billett” does not offer any other transfer deduction. 

• If your ticket expires before you have completed your journey, you don’t need to purchase a new ticket if your ticket was valid when you got onboard.  

• There is no discount or deduction for transfers between express boat and bus. You must buy a new ticket. 

1. Download and open the “Troms Billett” app 

2. Go to Settings and select Restore 

3. Select From iCloud or From App ID 

4. Enter your App ID, which you will find on your receipt or at the bottom under “Settings” in earlier versions of the app 

5. Click Restore 

You can easily buy tickets for others and send it to their phone. Please note that the recipient of the ticket must have installed the “Troms Billett” app. 

1. Download and open the “Troms Billett” app 

2. Select New ticket 

3. Select Buy for someone else 

4. Select the correct ticket type and click Next 

5. Confirm the purchase and pay for the ticket 

6. Share the ticket and retrieval code with the person you bought the ticket for 

If something is not working properly in the “Troms Billett” app or you have a suggestion for improvement, we would appreciate receiving feedback via our contact form. 

• This is the easiest way to buy tickets. 

• You can clearly see how many days you have left. 

• The credit/debit card you enter in the app is charged. You can also pay via the mobile payment app Vipps and even buy tickets for other people. 

• You don’t have to keep track of your plastic travelcard. 

• You can buy most of Troms Fylkestrafikk’s tickets on your mobile phone.
